I’m curious: What makes you happy about it?

We are all capable of making many mistakes when we write. That’s why it’s important to be both a good writer AND editor!

Sounds as though you need to figure out why you’re writing BEFORE you start doing it. As Stephen Covey says: Begin with the end in mind.

I have ideas that pop into my head on rare occasions this happens when I start to write them on paper. I become extremely motivated and impelled but loose all passion and ask myself what am I writing? Why am I writing?

Well, then consider hiring an editor. Book editors are a real bargain. Check with your local editor’s association for some names…

Thanks! Great feedback, advise and food for thought. I have never thought of them being two entirely separate jobs. Maybe that’s why I always wish I could just write, then hand it over to someone to edit. If I had someone editing my writing I would produce a lot more content and probably already have a book or two under my belt.
