If you do not mind you can send your final drafts to me in Word via email. I will edit the first three gratis. If not a burden then I will continue editing for free.

Yes, of course you’re right. My copy editor would have caught this! Too bad I can’t afford to hire her for editing these posts. Thanks for calling attention to this; I surely won’t make the same mistake in future.

No, am aghast at the “off of” Americanism that has been widely discredited as improper grammar. The last word is redundant, extraneous, etc and may be dropped.

Thanks for all of your suggestions, David. Hope you have a terrific Canada Day — and fourth of July, of course.

Are you objecting to a sentence that ends with a preposition?

I’ve finished two by Brene Brown: Daring Greatly, and Rising Strong. I know that some of her work is really common sense, but when you’re hurting, or face down in the arena, sometimes you need to hear sage wisdom again. I also finished Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher, You can.You will by Joel Osteen, Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer, and the first 2 of Rick Riordano’ s New series -Magus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. All I can recommend.

Already read 25 of 30 books toward my Goodreads goal for the year.

What not to read:
The Heart of Everything That Is: The Untold Story of Red Cloud, An American Legend by Bob Drury, Tom Clavin. A NYT best seller! An example of revisionist history with thinly-veiled white nationalist prejudices

An ongoing goal is to read classics I had not read. “The Jungle Book”, by Kipling is outstanding. Imagine the voices of Nature that sing to you and talk to you daily.

Favorite fiction: “The Man of Legends” by Kenneth C. Johnson. Science fiction, time-travel, and battles between Good, Evil, organized religion, and millennialists since the hero was born in 15 B.C. It is a long, confusing story that could be a TV series like Game of Thrones, which I also have on my reading list.

Favorite non-fiction: “The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World” by Dalai Lama XIV, Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams.

I will add a few more books since I joined the American Meteorological Society last month.
