It’s been a while since I read it so I don’t remember all of the details but I think I found the plotting a bit facile and the characters a bit predictable. (It’s the first Jodi Picoult book I’ve read.)

I’m curious as to why it was “Other” for you.

Thanks so much for posting this, Sharon. I do love a good memoir and this one sounds particularly interesting. It’s going right on my list.

After experiencing minor health issues as an adult, she goes to the agency through which she was adopted in search of her medical history – nothing more. She is surprised to find that the agency has a larger than usual file on her biological mother. After piecing together the information from the file, she realizes that she has known her biological mother’s family for over 20 years. The story is her journey towards eventually meeting and building a relationship with her biological mother, mostly through letters and postcards. Fascinating true story. Very well written!

Do you share an account with your daughter? Up to five people can share (it just has to go through one credit card.) My husband, daughter and I all have one account.

yes, I have a Kindle, but at the rate I read, even only buying books on sale can get expensive. My daughter and I raid each others’ libraries, but neither of us has anything really new.

I can lend it to you, if you’d like. It’s best read in paper, I think, because of the layout. Might not work as well on some e-readers.

Ooooooo, THANK YOU. This sounds like a terrifically interesting book, esp. for non-fiction writers like me!
