Yes, that’s the best reason for writing in the mornings!

I might be able to do that once in a blue moon, but my work day is always so crazy that I wouldn’t be able to make a habit of it. My best bet I think is to try for the morning before the craziness starts.

Here’s another thought: What about trying to find time during a natural break in your day? Would lunchtime work for you?

I am definitely a night owl. Unfortunately, I have to get up early in the morning though. I usually hit my creative stride around 10pm, but that makes it difficult to get enough sleep when I have to wake up early the next morning. I am going to see if I can train myself to get in the habit of writing in the morning. I’m going to start by just journaling for 5 minutes every morning to see if I can build up that habit.

I don’t see myself as wise enough to be quoted but thank YOU!

Thanks, Daphne. I’m seeing a neurologist for another issue but I’ll mention it to him and see what he thinks. I’m 55. Kids are grown and gone and I’m simply going with the flow. I’m glad to be making progress with my writing but it would be good for my brain to sleep for more than 5 hours straight.

I totally agree. Sleep is really important… Not something that should be trifled with…

Not sure that you can FORCE yourself to become a lark. I think it has more to do with the way we are “wired” when we’re born…
