Reading is my first love. In 2017, I read 98 books. (My initial goal was 60 books.) I maintain records in my book journal, on Goodreads, and on Facebook. I read so much because I don’t have realtime friends in my city, which is Los Angeles. The people to whom I enjoy speaking live far away. So I pour balm on my loneliness by reading. I have faith that my life will blossom. It is blossoming. I am taking a deeper interest in my physical appearance. Reading about women who were phenomenal in wardrobe inspires me to want to dress lovelier. It’s working because I have bought new clothes for the summer. Plus, people look at me more. So now, I am working on a story and saving my money. Using my passport is the next goal.

Thanks for your recommendations! I’m on holiday now so am currently adding lots of books to my next list, which I’ll post in late November/early December.

Note: this might post twice

Yeah I have to agree with you. I’ve stopped paying attention to Bookbub, did read a few books but they were OK I prefer to spend a bit more and get a book worth reading. Now that you’re on holidays got a few book/author recommendations.

George Mahood: he’s a self publish Amazon author so his books are cheap but he’s a super writer. Very off beat but humorous Link for his Amazon Page.

John Grisham Calico Joe and Skipping Christmas (or Christmas with The Kranks). The first one is good but it helps if you know something about American Football. The latter a very different story for him. Very good gave it 5 stars!

Ghost in the Wires: story about a computer hacker. Read this years ago,

The Whole Story About Climate: Just started it, book about climate change from a geological point of view. Greatly enjoying it.

Looking forward to your next book list!

Well, I do much the same as you: a book with me everywhere I go and I read before bed, nightly. But I still don’t manage a book a day!!!

Just noticed your post, Jeremy. (Not sure how I missed it until now!) I like the image of the ticking clocks in your mind. And your description of how reading makes their noise fade…

I am a super fast reader, I carry books with me everywhere and whenever I have to wait or get a chance I read. I also read every night before bed, and try to read some in the am. That also doesn’t count all the blog posts I read it’s just my books

Keep on reading, Rashita. It’s the best way to educate yourself. It’s also a great way to see the world and learn about other people without ever leaving the comfort of you own home!

I’m thirteen and currently I’m reading “Let It Snow” by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Miracle. As I’m a student of ninth standard, I have a very busy schedule, from home to school, school to home, then home to tuition and from tuition to another tuition and then from another tuition to UOL and at last from UOL to home. But still I find time for reading books, like when going or coming back from school in bus.
I got to know about this via an e-mail by Learning How To Learn.

I try to read a few pages during the 15-20 minutes spare time before work starts at 8 a.m. I’m an expat living and working in Thailand, so I don’t really go out much. After work I come home and try to study computer programming or read. I also have “The story of Philosophy” to complete. When I read in a quiet room, it feels like there are so many of these ticking clocks in my mind, but reading makes their noise fade out. When I read, I truly experience every other thought in my mind fading to the back while I absorb every word that I’m reading. I need to start meditating as you mentioned. It has enormous benefits. 🙂 Regards from Bangkok!

Thanks so much for the offer, Sara. I had so many volunteers that I’ve already finished the interviews. I had no idea I had so many readers who meditate!
