I’ve always admired Michael, and not just because he’s a Vancouverite…lol. My very big bag of hammers sounds just like your’s, one daughter and a son with very similar problems as your children, plus, my name is the same as a very popular YA author who has come out of nowhere this year and many of my social media places have been hijacked by rabid teens who resent that I have the same name. So now I think I’ll have to change my name…something which has been my identity for over 30 years. Sometimes it seems overwhelming, but it’s good to keep bags of hammers in perspective. 🙂

Dear Daphne
It´s always a pleasure to reading your newsletter and blogs, here in Denmark where I am born and living. You just set the spot on, what I am going around with. One of my big hammers, is that I am born with a rare disorder and I what to write about it. I lost my mother for 2 years ago and then I was motivated to write that book, I had
dream about for years. But I have not write for less of a year – Suddenly I was thinking “Who wants to read about my life and disorder?”

My profession is also to write in my own firm and I am writing every morning, but not on my book. I figure out it is about not being good enough. So thank you for setting post on that in the fine blog of Michael J. Fox.

In reply to Deborah DeGolyer. Thanks for the reminder. I've played with the idea of a standing desk but there are few good spots for one in my office. (My office is in our attic with a steeply pitched roof.) I'm going to revisit this idea now and try to work something out. Great idea!!

In reply to Deborah. Keep working at it Deborah! I can remember switching from writing by hand to using a typewriter (yes, I'm that old!) and I found it incredibly difficult. It probably took me about a year to adjust. Stick with Dictate (or try Dragon Naturally Speaking, which I've heard good things about) and I know it will get easier over time. So glad you enjoy my blog!
