We get this all the time. Client’s often equate time with expense, regardless of the quality. And some equate quality with whether they like the way it looks, rather than how appropriate and effective a well-designed visual communication really is.

Yes, it does depend — on the subject, and on how you’re feeling. But everyone should have a range. For example, I know I can write 300-700 words in 30 minutes. It’s a broad range, to be sure, but it makes estimating so much easier.
