In reply to Patricia. Plagiarism very unlikely, especially in fiction. Plagiarism occurs when you copy the exact wording someone else has used. Given that fiction is made up, someone else's phrases are unlikely to be suitable for your needs. (Plagiarism is somewhat more likely in an academic context where you also have to credit IDEAS to other people.)

I have reserved this book from my library – along with 4 other people ahead of me!
Daphne, I have a question. When we read others’ work, where is the line drawn between being inspired by their writing and plagiarism? I am constantly worried I might accidentally use someone else’s phrases in my own writing.
