About “feeling as though their company really cares”, I was once wrapped over the knuckles for writing “as though” our company was generous. The CEO said “the company IS generous”, and wanted “knowing” or “realizing”, but I believe we settled for “feeling that”, which had less subtle implication of doubt than “as though”.
