I’m wondering if your issue might simply be the need to edit? There’s no need to cut off material at the source. Write whatever you want to write. It’s when you edit that you can decide whether or not the material is suitable for publication….

I’m writing better pieces of stories each time. But, they are again and again coming around my problems of life. My life as a school drop out and as a child worker again and again somehow getting into my stories. As a teenager I’m easily writing about the teenagers. Other than that, while trying to write something new turn me into dwelling with the problems. Okay, what can I do for thinking better. Reading different type of books, learning about art, visiting to soulful places around me, hearing a lot of lite and even classical (Carnatic) music.
Even, now my language getting improvised. Tamil a five thousand year old language I’m writing, showing concern for a non-academic like me in the contemporary writing. But, after creating a not before structure of building. There I feel not getting enough light.

I recognize myself in each one. You help take the Oger out of the joys of writing.

Yes indeed. It works really, really effectively! And when you plug the Alphasmart into your computer (via a USB cable) the text/story you’ve entered retypes itself into Word. It reminds me a bit of a player piano!

You make a good point about visualizing success, Lorraine.

I finally dealt with this double jeopardy by writing any ridiculous kind of crap for what I was seeking to say, then force myself to plow forward with the next thought or paragraph. I learned that new furrows of writing inevitably unearthed good compost for going back to re-work the ridiculous crap. The key is to keep tilling around, don’t till too long in one spot.

Something that helps me head out the door is mentally projecting how I’ll feel at the end. I’ve never once regretted accomplishments once I’ve actually done them!
