Yes, it’s a really good idea to give yourself treats for writing (and for anything else you want to encourage.) I’m not sure I’d give myself a reward for getting into medical school, because so much about that is outside of your control. Instead, reward yourself for the work YOU do in trying to get it.

So much information about the brain’s plasticity is very new… I really try to stay away from sugar although it’s hard in our society…

I learned to reward myself with Barbara Oakley and since then I have always rewarded myself with small things like: a different lunch day by day, new furniture for my room.

I found this idea very interesting how to separate and divide the types of rewards you mentioned in the text. I thought it fantastic and now I’m going to start practicing.

In the case, I’m now preparing for the medical college entrance exam here in Brazil, so she would get into the first concept of bigger rewards right?

Thank you so much for sharing new ideas.

Good ideas for those tasks we only do because we have to. And thanks for telling us sugar disrupts the brain’s plasticity.” They didn’t teach that when I took physiological psychology!
