It causes some minor color deviation (no surprise there) but works very well for me.

For those who don’t wish to resort to glasses, there are some other possibilities, though.

For PC, Mac and Linux, there is a program called f.lux (justgetflux dot com), which adapts the color of the computer display to a warmer hue at night (but keeps it “as is” during the day). It can be turned off manually, e.g. when doing color-sensitive work or watching a movie.

For Android, there is an app called twilight (on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux) (please remove link and forgive me if I violated some policy with link posting!) which does the same.

In both, you can adjust the hue and intensity and many more.
