I never visited your blogspot. I am saving all your emails in a separate folder and refer to them when I want reference on some topic. I like your style of writing because you mention something about your personal life which I can associate and then what lessons you learned from it. Thank you for your weekly posts. In reply to LuAnne. LuAnne, I'm not sure I want to encourage anyone to write something about which they know nothing. That said, I think mindmapping illustrates how so many of us know so much more than we think! Music is a good example. Even if you had no musical training, you couldn't help but be exposed to music over the years. Thanks for writing!

Mindmapping is very helpful when you have to write about something about which you think you know nothing. I knew I should write about music on my blog designed to help students develop an international perspective, but I have no musical background and little exposure to the current music scene. I started writing down everything I could think of about music. The procedure even led to my blog post title, “Music of the Sphere.”

To get my creativity going I do a combination of “sneaking up on it” and mindmapping. I sneak up on it by pretending to do something else with a pen in my hand, like writing a grocery list or doing my morning pages. It also helps to go do errands and have a notebook with me. Then, once I get rolling, I’ll switch over to mind mapping.

Daphne, another informative article. I write a monthly letter to associates in the western US. Your articles are a great source of reference. In my case, for motivational letters.
