Interesting that you should find the pedometer limiting! I find the reverse — it doesn’t impinge on my enjoyment and it frequently inspires me to get more walking when I haven’t been active enough. Chacun à son gout, I guess! We both agree, however, that writers walk!

I actually got rid of my jawbone… started to feel that I was walking to accumulate numbers rather than enjoy the stroll… just back from a walk to the shops with my baby daughter. Thanks for a great reflection… writers walk 😉

Me too but I think that even those who don’t love it quite so much should consider spending a little time doing it. (Or, alternatively, doing something else that will leave them free to reflect on what they’re writing about.) Running, cycling, swimming, and, perhaps paradoxically, cooking all fall into that category!

It does help get my ideas flowing, but it also just makes me happier. My walks with my dog are often some of the happiest little moments of my days.

Oh,yeah, that‘s a good idea. But there isn‘t a perfect solution to the problem of parking Space in China. You know ,if you cannot stop to set position, you’ll be filled by the traffic police in my country.

I suggest you park your car three blocks (or more) from your office. That way you’ll get a bit of a walk to and from work and to and from whenever you have to go to a client meeting.

Yes, this is particularly important in very wet, grey climates (like Vancouver, where I live!)
